could use some refurbishment; coffee machine must dat from previous century; noisy
It's location is well suited for visiting all the locations in and around Astoria that you might want to see...
In my opinion it is over priced for its age.. They failed to mention that half of the parking spaces well being resurfaced so parking was at a premium.. There is no A/C in the rooms only a table fan so the room was very stuffy....
Convenience of location. Our dog had surgery & this was a good place to stay for the money. We were very impressed with the cleanliness.
We were Not happy with the rooms. The accomadations were not as represented! There was not internet access in either room our family stayed in!! The staff person thought another room would correct the problem however our rooms were not together and neither room had internet access. The rooms were barely passable. The rooms were clean but emitted a stall odor. Serious updating is needed in the bathrooms and regular rooms. The drapery lining had numerous holes and air conditioning was a fan. Thin walls that allowed conversation from one of the adjoining room and the highway interupted sleeping. We would NOT recommend this Motel!!!!
The bed and pillows left much to be desired. The pillows were very minimal and the bed was hard.
The hotel clerk was very friendly and accomidating.
no hair dryer
Family friendly-- close to all points of interest, food and fuel.
the manager was friendly. the beds were comfortable, clean, and no bugs fairly quiet near the Columbia River near Ship's Inn
coffee maker broken circuit breaker blew (not from us) which may be why neither coffee maker nor microwave worked plumbing/ faucets work backwards
Easy to find, cheap
Baaaad smell in the room. The room marked as non-smoking but maybe it became non-smoking just for our arrival? tacky WC especially WC mesh, coffeemachine from 1950s, instant coffee instead of normal
Lots of noise late into the night (early into the am) from other rooms. Coffee machine did not work.
Definitely location...it was our first time in Astoria OR and after we realized where we were, how easy it was to get around and the closeness to a lot of businesses, restaurants and the sites, it made for a better visit.
I definitely did not have good sleep there because of the bed and pillows. Also, I didn't care for the way the bathroom looked. I think the grout must have been stained because there were different colored. Although there wasn't a cabinet underneath the sink, the wooden panel covering it wasn't totally secured and all I can think to myself is what was behind that panel which I really didn't want to know. If the bathroom is any indication of how old the building was, I'm not impressed. FYI--We traveled during peak season so rates are higher.
Not as represented, but no options on a holiday weekend after discovering the reality. On street noise, no real amenities. Reminds me of a place one could rent for shorter time increments..., not a hotel..
I was appalled at the prices of accommodations in the area, since I was on a road trip and just passing through. I picked Columbia Inn because it was the only place I found affordable. It was located near the center of everything and close to the trolley tracks, so it suited my purposes. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Even though the hotel is located on the main drag, it was not noisy during the night.
The staff could have been more professional. Chain smoking in front of your hotel is not the best advertisement. The hotel could use some fresh paint, especially on the trim.
No plugins for recharging devices,or even the microwave supplied with the room. Was extremely noisy, from adjoining rooms and highway traffic. Absolutely no sound proofing. It was also so,so as far as being clean.
The rooms were hot and stuffy with very small windows to open. The bed was uncomfortable.
